Updating Your Contact Info

Students

As an international student, you'll need to update your US phone number, US local address, permanent home country address, and primary email address within 10 calendar days of any change. 

You might fall into more than one category, so be sure to follow the instructions for each situation that applies to you. 

If you are... You should...
Enrolled in classes at Emory

Your address and telephone number must be set to "local" in OPUS in order for this information to be sent to SEVIS. You have not met your reporting requirement if you do not enter a local address and phone number. Please note: You must enter your phone number types as "Local" (US phone numbers) and "Permanent" (foreign phone numbers) for us to receive the information. Phone numbers entered as "Mobile" will not be sent to us for reporting. Even if you are reporting a mobile number, please add it as a "Local" or "Permanent" number to be sure we receive the information.

Log in to OPUS to update your physical address, email address, and your local phone number.

If you live on campus, use your Emory PO box as your local address, and make sure your residence hall address is listed correctly. If it i's not correct, contact Housing at housing@emory.edu or 404.727.7631 to have them fix it in the system.

An Emory graduate participating in Optional Practical Training Log in to ISSS Link and update your physical address, email address, and/or phone number using the OPT Employer/Address Update e-form. If your Emory login credentials are no longer valid, you may access ISSS Link using "Limited Services." Please email isss@emory.edu if you are unable to access ISSS Link using Limited Services. 
An Emory graduate participating in Academic Training

Log in to ISSS Link and update your physical address, email address, and/or phone number using the U.S. Address/Email/Phone Update e-form. If your Emory login credentials are no longer valid, you may access ISSS Link using "Limited Services." Please email isss@emory.edu if you are unable to access ISSS Link using Limited Services. 

None of the above Email ISSS.

Scholars/Employees

As an international scholar, you will need to update your US phone number, US local address, permanent home country address, and primary email address within 10 calendar days of any change.

Paid by Emory (and not taking a class at Emory) Update your physical address, email address, and phone number in the Human Resources System

Please enter your US phone number as “Local” and your foreign phone number as “Permanent”.

In E-3, H-1B, O-1, TN, or PR status In addition to updating the HR system (see above), fill out the AR-11 Change of Address Card and submit it to US Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Sponsored by another J-1 Sponsor (e.g. IIE) Contact the Designated School Official or the Responsible Officer for your program.
A J-1 scholar not in the Emory HR system Log in to ISSS Link and submit the US Address/Email/Phone Update e-form. Additionally, email Emory's non-resident tax specialists with your new US address.
Paid or Unpaid & Enrolled in classes at Emory

Dependents

If you have J-2 dependents in the US, please report their US phone number, US local address, and primary email address in ISSS Link by submitting the Add/Update Dependent e-form (located under J-1 Scholars Services > Dependents) within 10 days of any change.

If your dependents are not in J-2 status, you do not need to report their contact information in ISSS Link.
